What's Happening
The Evans Police Department will host a Drug Take Back and Shredding Event on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sam’s Club parking lot.
Community members are invited to bring unused, expired or unwanted medications for safe disposal, as well as sensitive documents that are no longer needed for secure shredding.
Proper disposal of medications helps prevent misuse and keeps unwanted medications out of homes and the environment. Secure document shredding also provides residents with an opportunity to safely dispose of materials containing personal or confidential information.
The following items will not be accepted during the event:
Needles and sharps
Mercury thermometers
Oxygen containers
Chemotherapy or radioactive substances
Pressurized canisters
Illegal drugs
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity to safely dispose of medications and sensitive documents while helping support a safer community.
